“From local to global, fighting the causes of climate change”

Summary:

District Green is a “team-based” TV game show.

Each episode opposes 2 competing teams.

To win an episode, each team first produces a video report proposing a solution to a local environmental problem, from energy waste to pollution, from inefficiency to ignorance. Each team then pitches its solution to the opposite team. As referees of this competition, three jurors guide, judge and grade the players.

Each task, production and pitch, is graded using a points system. The highest score wins the title of Best Green Team of that episode. The winner gets to the next level of the competition.

District Green is conducted within one school with competitors from the same grade level in either High school or College/University.

Rewards for the District Green Competition range from green Internships and Scholarships provided by local companies at the High school level to green jobs at the University level.

District Green is the perfect tool to create incentives among students to constantly improve efficiency and motivations for environmental causes, and to turn green policies into successes while generating very positive images to the participating schools and Universities.

District Green is truly international and can run, with local specificities, in any country or any group of countries anywhere on the Planet.

District Green aims at building a network of “green fighters” committed to reduce energy expenses, waste and inefficiency as well as fight daily causes of climate change with local applicable solutions.

District Green is the perfect global tool to promote and implement Goal SEVEN of the eight United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.

District Green is a Format

TV Producers interested in producing the District Green show, using Internet and Television, will be selected for their broadcasting range, their experience to tackle environmental issues and their ability to produce a transmedia show.

To successfully achieve their goal, the Producers will need at least two major partners operating in their territories: an Internet video-portal and a Television outlet. A Global Internet video portal can handle all preparations and follow up of the District Green Game Show, while the TV broadcaster will create the buzz and ensure visibility and success.

Potential Developments for District Green

Any video produced by any District Green competing team and aired on the Internet and on Television under the District Green banner, can become part of international competitions as well as part of educational tools able to circulate inside the whole world.

District Green allows the creation of a video-library of local environmental solutions, helping everyone to become more efficient and more forward thinking to operate energy needs, to tackle environment problems and fight the causes of climate change.

The international rights of any video produced and aired within any District Green program, while remaining with the original producing team, will see their additional revenues shared by the producers and co-producers of the local District Green versions following formulas compatible with local ownership laws.

Motivations

We do not own our Planet; we borrowed it from our Children and Grand Children.

Earth is warming up creating living conditions and potentially explosive situations that will require more attention and more expenses to cope with for our next generations.

Internet and Television are two essential tools to help propagate useful ideas by showing interactively the best examples of success in fighting the causes of climate change.

The District Green Project has the capability to reach potentially millions of people, starting with the young generations to motivate them to become the active players in this fight in search for greatest efficiency.

LGMA has, directly and indirectly, the experience of television competitions, environmental and energy-based operations for over 30 years.
